How Vitamins have helped my family.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, and Certified Life Coach, who has a 12 year old son with Aspergers. He was diagnosed three years ago, so I had alot of catching up to do in terms of educating myself about this spectrum disorder. I was ADHD and Dyslexic as a child with sensory integration disorder myself (at that time it didn't have a name).

My son Cameron was dealing with digestive disorders his entire life, but I didn't know it was connected to Aspergers until I had a brain scan done at the Amen Clinic in Newport Beach. Shortly after that Cameron was told by his doctors that he needed to have his gall bladder removed, and I wanted to try everything alternative before surgery.

I met a couple of Naturapathic Doctors in the desert where I live, and they said he needed to start him on high-quality health products immediately. It was too late to save his gallbladder, however he has been taking supplements after surgery to help his immune system.

I went to the DAN (Defeat Autism Now)conference last year, and I heard Jenny McCarthy speak about her son and her journey to help him heal. She is a very spiritual and inspired speaker, and a mover and a shaker. I am glad that she is pushing for legislation to check the immune function of infants before they are vaccinated. I agree with Jenny that we have to be "Mother Warriors" and advocate and take action on behalf of our children.

I use (and strongly suggest that you do the same) pharmaceutical-grade supplements to help me with the high stress that goes along with being a single mother raising a young son with Asperger's Syndrome.
