Being able to include physical activities at home on a regular basis is vital. What would be my choice for the one piece of exercise equipment that everyone should have? The answer is a mini-trampoline, or rebounder. When I was working at

, I had the pleasure to get trained on this equipment, and each hospital room has a rebounder in it, so I was able to bounce daily.

The most difficult part of exercising is just getting started in a routine. If traditional exercise is your cup of tea, then here is a great beginner's guide to generally recommended exercises put out by Kaiser Hospital. Remember, if you can just get started, the rest is easy. But find the exercises that are fun for you and that you will do regularly.

I was introduced to the Chinese Tai Chi Chuan exercise system more than 30 years ago. I still practice it occasionally and find it, along with Chi Gong, to be unlike any Western exercises in generating real internal energy and power.
