FOOD IS MEDICINE

Proper nutrition and food in the right combinations are the main stepping-stones along the path to good health at Sanoviv. Educational programs provide guests with an understanding of how the body uses certain enzymes to digest different foods, enabling the body to heal itself and regain health. This theory is exhibited in Sanoviv’s gourmet food and nutrition program featuring a cleansing diet of primarily raw foods, consisting of many kinds of sprouts, vegetables, fruits, nuts, gluten-free grains, sea vegetables and juices.

Food preparation classes in Sanoviv’s demonstration kitchen are a fun way for guests to learn the skills to put theory into practice, and take home practical ways to continue Sanoviv’s healthy healing diet.

With fresh raw foods, as well as colon hydrotherapies, enemas and natural nutritional astringents, the body is enabled to flush out invading toxins. Once the body has been cleansed, energy can then be focused on healing.

Sanoviv’s lush grounds sit on a bluff overlooking the Bahia del Descanso (Bay of Rest) which provide a total healing environment. The combination of positive atmospheric, electromagnetic and geographic factors makes Sanoviv one of the healthiest locations on earth! Water is a perennial theme throughout the 10 acre retreat. From just about any location, blue skies and a view of the soothing ocean waves resonate with peace and tranquility.

Outdoor heated swimming pools and thalasso therapy pools are filled with chlorine-free ocean water that has been filtered and sterilized to kill bacteria. Among the five pools, water is constantly recirculated back into the ocean.

Drinking water which is abundant in bottles around the facility, and tap water, are purified using a four step filtering system of particulate filters, carbon filters, reverse osmosis and Ultra violet light.

But it’s what guests do not see at Sanoviv that makes it so special. During construction, Dr. Wentz, a cellular microbiologist, immunologist, and virologist who invented the gold-standard test for the Epstein Barr virus, insisted on non-toxic, natural building materials, including carpeting, paints, and fabrics, specially insulated wiring, and non-toxic glue for laminates.

It’s also the little touches that make the Sanoviv experience so special for guests. During their stay, guests are provided with natural cotton clothes including comfortable sandals. Every guest suite features a private ocean-view balcony, marble tiled bathrooms and many offer companion rooms, because Sanoviv believes family and friends aid in the healing process.
